My Personal Experience
Go out and get one NOW! My two sons love to have a cup of coffee when they are kicking back with their friends. It is really so simple to use. Why spend money at a local Starbuck when they can just relax in the TV room with high speed broadband and satellite TV. My brother-in-law is a coffee lover like me, and he spent a lot more on his automated Espresso machine.
For that price, he could have bought two dozen Breville machines. So, doesn’t it make sense to consider this Breville machine among the others on the market? It might be a little more manual setting but the coffee is just as fantastic. He even said he wished he got this and spent the rest of the money on his gold clubs. LOL. I like the fact that this unit is easy to use. I’m already stressed out when guests are coming over, but now I can simply prepare some coffee to keep the conversation going.
Clean up is a snap. I love the fact that I can make three kinds of beverages without fumbling around and making a mess. Our house has a lot of traffic and this machine suits everyone’s particular tastes. I used Starbucks coffee and syrups and its priceless. You can also froth skim, whole and soymilk too. Whatever you have in the house is fine. I tried heavy cream as an experiment. And you know what, it worked. Just a quick note though, don’t tamp you espresso too much or the water won’t be able to come out. So use your best judgment. Tamp firm but not too firm and you will have the perfect cup and the crema will be awesome.
From all the previous machines, from Krups to others, I really love the Breville brand as you can see. I can use fewer beans and espresso to alter the taste to suit my buds. I like Starbuck beans for the flavor. I always get a consistent flavor. Remember, it’s the beans that hold the entire flavor. I also try to use distilled water for the purest taste. Another cleaning tip is to soak your espresso pod after you are done using it. It will keep the unit in like new condition and keep it ready for the next use. The unit is not that noisy but it does vibrate when it’s operating. After you froth the milk, vent the wand to avoid milk getting stuck in the tube.
After you brew the espresso, you might find a little water in the tray. This is normal. I didn’t find it’s a fuss at all. My sons like cappuccino, so I mix the espresso and milk to get the perfect combination. After a few tries, you will be a master like me. You skills will improve and you will get used to using this unit. I’m so good at it that I can get a finished cup in about 3 minutes. How do you like that? It might take you longer, but you will get more efficient as time goes on.
My Take
